Route 66 Cruiser Meeting Minutes

March 6, 2016, Pizza Hut Restaurant:

Dwayne Caldwell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.  Jerry Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

The minutes from the last meeting were read.  There was a correction to the minutes changing the month of the first NeMar cruise to March 25 from April 22.   A motion to accept as corrected was made by Nick Carter and seconded by Jerry Henry.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

The Treasurer’s report was read. A motion to accept as read was made by Jerry Henry and seconded by Nick Carter.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

Dwayne informed the club that James Rigler was in the hospital after suffering a stroke.

Old Business:

Delbert Tygart amended his motion made last month, to be a direct donation to Honor Flights instead of sponsoring a member to be a guardian.  There was a discussion regarding recognition and pass donations.  The vote put to the club was if money is available after the car show to donate $XXX to the Honor Flight.  By show of hands the motion passed.

At the last monthly meeting there was a discussion regarding the Pin Up Girls contest at the car show.  It was concerning to use an outside company to run the contest or for the club to take it over.  Concern was that the contest was not open to everyone with the outside company.  Dwayne talked to Amanda Eddy, the first winner of our Pin Up Girls Contest, and she is available to help the club with any questions.  There was a concern regarding liability for the contest.  We do have a liability clause in our car show insurance which should cover it.  We will have the contestants sign the same liability form as the car owners.  The motion was to keep the same company as last year.  The vote, by show of hands was to not use that company, which means the club will run the pin up contest.

New Business:

Dwayne welcomed two new members Rob and Susan Barr.
