Route 66 Cruiser Meeting Minutes

Pizza Hut –July 9, 2017

Dwayne Caldwell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.  Jerry Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

Debbi Bennett read the minutes.  A motion to accept as read was made by Jim White and seconded James Rigler. No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Anita Moorehead.  A motion to accept as read was made by Jerry Henry and seconded by James Rigler.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

Rogers County Youth Services will be having their annual fund raiser.  It is a Sock Hop held at the Holiday Inn Express Convention Center.  There is an auction.  They are looking for about ten cars, drivers will get in free additional tickets $25.  It is August 19^th 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 

The Rt. 66 sign we helped sponsor was hung on the Pixley building.

We received a letter from the insurance company stating that based on the number of people attending our show the premium could be $600 compared to $300 we paid last year.  Dwayne will get in contact with them to explain that not everyone going over the traffic counter is attending the car show.  He will work to get it back on track with previous years.

We are still looking for someone head up the Toy Run.  If no one comes forward we will have to cancel. 

Scott Yazee will be doing the car show tee shirts.  Sign-up sheets are available or you can contact Sharon with size and color on the facebook page. 

There was a discussion if we will have the silent auction at the car show.  Paul has contacted some business for donation, if we do not have an auction the items can be used as prizes.

The August 4th “Cruise In” will be the 50^th Anniversary for NeMar Center.  Cars will need to be at our designated spot by 6:30.  The event is 7 pm – 10 pm.

There will be a car show meeting at Eggberts on July 24^th.  Discussion to include open parking, fire truck parking, vendor parking and electrical setup for vendors.

Please post a picture of your car on the private Facebook page so that it can be included in the Calendar.  Sharon will set up a post.  Paul Richards will begin the design.

Next meeting will be August 6^th.

Jerry Henry motioned to adjourn and Jim White seconded.  The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
