Route 66 Cruiser Meeting Minutes

Pizza Hut, December 4, 2016

Dwayne Caldwell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.  Jerry Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Debbi Bennett.  A motion to accept as was made by Nick Carter and seconded by Jerry Henry.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

 Debbi Bennett read the minutes.  A motion to accept as read was made by Nick Carter and seconded by James Rigler. No one opposed and the motion was accepted.  

Old Business

Dwayne introduced the New Officers:

·         President – Dwayne Caldwell

·         Vice President – Paul Richards

·         Secretary – Debbi Bennett

·         Treasurer – Anita Moorehead

·         Sergeant of Arms – Jerry Henry

Dwayne called for a vote on last month’s motion to purchase insurance needed for Officer’s protection from law suits.  The motion passed with no opposing votes. We will purchase after the first of the year.

Last month there was a motion to reimburse the Caldwell's the cost of the current law suit. Following a discussion the motion was tabled until the settlement of the suit.

New Business

Checks are going to be presented to the Akdar Shrine at their December meeting.

Paul Kelsey indicated we are Christmas party on December 11^th that distributes the toys collected on our toy run.   It will be help Allan Chapman Student Union.

We are decorating for the Christmas Parade at the Barr’s on Monday (December 5^th) 11:00 a.m.  On parade day, meet at the VFW at 4:45 p.m. to leave at 5:00 p.m. to line up.  Leona offered to leave her van at the end of the parade to provide transportation back to the VFW. - Click here to see pictures of the finished parade entry

The Christmas party will be on Friday, December 9^th, 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center, Blue Starr & Sioux. The cost is $5 per person. Bring a gift.  Catering by the Dutch Pantry.

Dues are due in January, $15 for a person, $20 a couple.

Next meeting will be January 8^th due New Year’s Day being our normal meeting date.

Our February meeting will be February 12 since the Super Bowl will be held on our normal meeting date. 

Discussion on Starbird Show.  Need to know who plans to attend. How much do we want to set up.
