ROUTE 66 CAR CLUB MEETING August 2nd, 2015 Barbara Kelsey Route 66 Cruisers Car Club Secretary.

 The Route 66 car club meeting was called to order by President Dwayne
Caldwell  At 5:00 pm at the Will Rogers Downs.


The Pledge of Allegiance was said and Jerry Henry said a prayer.


The Secretary’s report was read and approved as read


The Treasurer’s report was approved as read.


Dwayne Caldwell introduced two guests, Rod and Cindy Sands, who
have just joined the club. They have started a Museum called the Heart
of Route 66 Auto Museum, Inc. They are a 501-c club. They have an old
gas pump that will be a good place to take pictures by. To raise money for
the museum they are selling tickets for a 1956 MGA Race Car at $20.00 a
ticket. They hope to be finished in early 2016.


Dwayne introduced the next speaker, Eric Hamshar from the DW Correll
Museum. Eric announced that they were having a icecream social and
Cruise in on August 8th. They would like for us to bring some of our cars
to the event.


Dwayne introduced another speaker, Cody Birch. Cody told us about the
car show at Oolagah called Cooweescoowee Roundup sponsored by the
chamber of commerce there. September 19th. It will be on main street.
The entry cost will be $15.00.


Dwayne brought up a subject about items put on facebook that is not
appropriate concerning our club. If there are any problems to bring it
to the club meeting.


The car club has been busy this year. We went to the Great Race, the
Ribbon cutting at the Holiday Express and they gave us two free rooms
for our car show. We already have two rooms at the Comfort Inn given
to us.


There will be a car show meeting at the Pizza Hut to be announced later.


The Patriot Car club asked for Judges for their car show but because it
was so hot only three showed up. Dwayne Caldwell and Sharon and Dick
McGuire. Dwayne and Sharon judged the whole show.


The Food track event will be at the Admiral Twin Drive-in on Sept 20th.
Dwayne announced that there will be a food drive at every cruise in at
Ne Mar starting at 4:00pm


There will be new people in charge of the Toy Run. Ken and Brenda
Metzinger with the help of Paul Kelsey. Paul will be talking with the
Shriners for help.


We are still needing silent auction items.

The stuffing of the goody bags will be either Sept 13th or the 20th. Sharon Caldwell will let us know by e-mail.
Charlies chicken will be the meat for the picnic.


The Casino gave the club $500.00. We will have invoices made up so that
we can give them to the companies who donate to us.


The Pin-up Girls still need items for their goody bags that we give them and
Dwayne said that there will be curtains for the womens bathrooms.
And we still need people for the Registration table.

There was a discussion on charities and how much to give them.

Dwayne wants the September meeting to be on August 30th because of labor day weekend.

Brenda Metzinger will make a membership file.


Still need judges and parkers. Patricia White will be in charge of the
raffle, Betsy McClendon and Paul Kelsey will be in charge of the food vendors,
Sharon Coldren is in charge of the Craft vendors, Delbert Tygart and
Dwayne will be in charge of the banners. The Boy Scouts will help again.


It was announced that the American Legion is having a fish fry every 4th
Friday of each month.

August 21st the club will go to the Moores fish Farm.

On August 15th there will be a fly in at Will Rogers Ranch.


September 10th-12th a Blue grass chili Festival.

Dick McGuire said the  Rogers County Bank (Roger County Magazine) will have a feature on our car club in their September Magazine issue.
